And if you specially want to vist Puri then come in the month of June during the time of Rath Yatra. You will witness the majestic aura of Lord Jagannath. Starting from the huge chariots pulled by man chain every ritual of the lord is unique and majestic. There are also various ashramas with divine saints for those who want to seek spiritualism.

The best time to visit Odisha is the October–March period – especially November, December and January – when the weather is warm and dry. It gets uncomfortably hot in April–May, and the monsoon generally hits in June and lasts until the end of September. The first couple of months of the rainy season are also sweltering, but this is when Odisha’s most famous festival, the Rath Yatra, takes place.

I would advise to go to Odisha(or Orissa) during winter. The weather during post second week of October is relatively less sultry and more towards lesser degrees. But there’s one thing to note that Odisha lies in the east i.e bay of Bengal region, which is more prone to tropical cyclones. So whenever you plan to visit the state, do see online weather forecasts of at least 2 weeks.
